Narratives, digital & analog
I am drawn to good narrative and aspire to deliver it. Text and multimedia such as audio/video, design, and web development are there to serve the story, be it commercial, journalism, or fiction.
Design is the medium of narrative, it is how we deliver information and symbols in a palatable way. At its summit, design can bless narrative with a kind of mystique and elevate it to more than the sum of its parts. I evaluate a story and find the best way to deliver it, sometimes using more than one medium. I try to tell a story in a way that lasts long after it is delivered
Currently I attend Humber College, school of multimedia design and development. There I learn design, audio/video editing, as well as web and app development for mobile and desktop platforms. I am learning photography under various mentors and work in both analog and digital formats.
I am a published writer for both on-line and print mediums since 2000 including Perfect Sound Forever, Exclaim! (Canada's Music Authority) The Globe and Mail as well as Oxford Canada.
My first book, Muslimgauze: Chasing the Shadow of Bryn Jones was published by Vinyl on Demand in 2014.
My established skills include commercial, journalism, and literary writing. I also have experience in layout and design for CD/Vinyl/Cassettes/posters.
